The Tshabalala Family and their development partners are bringing to the community of Mofolo and the entire Soweto, an exciting new retail development.
Eyethu Shopping Centre is borne from the historical spirit of the Iconic Eyethu Theatre. The memories of the iconic Eyethu Theatre are about to be preserved and presented in a new light through the development of this 8,000m² retail centre.
Eyethu Shopping Centre will house a Heritage Hall, which will tell the story of the Eyethu Theatre through display of the preserved artworks. A new rooftop Eyethu Lifestyle Centre, small business incubation hub, hawker’s market and taxi drop-off zone, along with local tenants and national anchors including Shoprite, OBC Butchery, Pep Store and others.
The Tshabalala Family and their property development partners have paid particular attention to the employment and empowerment needs of the community. This is for both during and post construction phase of this centre, and will be conducted through a fair, open and indiscriminate process. Local businesses and job seekers will be engaged to ensure a positive socio-economic development.
The introduction of the Empowerploy® Systems with attention to detail managing the employment and empowerment processes, is expected to ensure that the process is simplified, facilitate feedback and keep record of all engagements.
