Soshanguve Plaza Redevelopment (Phase 1)

The Local Community of Soshanguve, is to be prioritized during the employment and empowerment stages of the project. The developers of the New Soshanguve Plaza, have got decades of experience in developing retail facilities within communities of similar dynamics as those of Soshanguve.

The involvement of EmpowerPloy as a Stakeholder Engagement company, is to ensure among others, that:

• Employment processes are fair and open to all,
• Local businesses are given business and empowerment opportunities,
• Opportunities are presented in advance through a transparent platform,
• The project’s Socio-Economic Impact to the community is recorded and documented,
• Formidable relations are forged between the local community and the project,
• Big business mentor and empower small business and
• Community engagement processes are conducive and beneficial to all stakeholders.

No intake of local businesses or job-seekers will be by force or in any manner that would be undue to both the community and the Project.

The old Soshanguve Plaza will be demolished and make way for a whole new World-Class double storey Mall covering 65000sqm of GLA. The construction project will start with a development of a 8000sqm Value Centre at the South End of the property followed by the demolition of the old centre, construction of the mall and the linkage of the mall to the value centre.
